 "Tsuruume" is a symbol of longevity and good fortune, and the plum is the flower that heralds spring and is also the main ingredient in plum wine. In Japan, crests have long been respected and placed in important places, such as on family crests, ceremonial dress, wedding and funeral utensils. Tsuruume's "crest" is placed on the label, which is the face of the sake, as a sign that the sake is a genuine plum wine made from the best of nature, without any additives.

This plum liqueur is made from only the ripest and most mature Nanko plums, which are considered to be the finest plums in the world, and you can taste the flesh of the fruit. The secret to its juiciness, like biting into a whole fruit, is the addition of more peach paste. The peaches are also sourced from non other then Wakayama Prefecture.

The northern part of Wakayama Prefecture is surrounded by sea and mountains. The brewed fruit wine specially using matured sake for two years in order to taste the full charm of the fruits grown in Wakayama Prefecture, such as plums and many other fruits traditionally cultivated for more than a thousand years in Wakayama, famous for plum producing area in Japan.
